With built-to-ship tiny homes, dimensions must correspond with Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines for portable structures on the road, which limits the width and height you can choose. With Keen’s, you can opt for a larger structure and we will build it on your property, either on a permanent concrete foundation or anchored to concrete blocks.

What is an ADU-Approved Dwelling?

An Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) is a small dwelling located on the same lot as your home. In most cases, ADUs can connect to the existing home’s utilities, including electrical, water, and sewer lines.

An ADU-approved dwelling enables seniors or loved ones to stay near family as they age. They can also be used as a rental unit on your property, allowing you to generate additional tenant income or house guests. 

Tiny Home vs. ADU

If properly permitted, a tiny home can be constructed on an empty lot where there is no primary structure. Meanwhile, an ADU can only be built where there is an existing residential structure — in most cases, a main house.
