How much does a metal building cost?
Prices vary by size, gauge, customization, and your location. As a baseline: metal carports start around $1,195, storage sheds around $1,895, and 1-car metal garages around $3,495. Custom workshops, barndominiums, and commercial buildings are quoted individually. Use our 3D Designer to get an exact price for any configuration.
What sizes are available?
Standard sizes range from 8×8 sheds to 60×200 commercial buildings. Custom dimensions are available in 1-foot increments for most products. Use our 3D Designer to configure any size, then we’ll confirm engineering and price.
Can I customize colors, doors, windows, and lean-tos?
Yes — every building can be customized. Choose from 13+ paint colors, multiple roll-up and walk-in door sizes, windows in various dimensions, and add-ons like lean-tos, gables, dormers, and porches. Configure everything in our 3D Designer to see your build in real time before you order.
Do I need concrete before installation?
No. Keen’s buildings can be installed on a level concrete pad, gravel, asphalt, or compact ground. The base surface affects anchoring (concrete/asphalt anchors vs. mobile-home rebar for ground installs), but you do not need to pour concrete first. Most customers choose gravel or grade-prepped ground to keep costs down.
How long does installation take?
Most buildings are installed in 1-2 days once the crew arrives on site. The full lead time from order to install is typically 4-8 weeks. Smaller sheds in Florida and Georgia ship within 2-3 weeks. Custom orders, barndominiums, and red-iron commercial buildings can take 8-16 weeks. You’ll get a confirmed install date after your final design is approved.
What’s included in free installation?
Free installation includes site arrival, anchoring to a level surface (concrete, gravel, or compact ground), full assembly of the building, and a quality check. It does not include site preparation (leveling, pouring concrete) or permitting — see the site-prep guide we send before delivery.
Do I need a permit?
Permit requirements vary by county and building size. Most Florida counties require permits for any structure over 100 sq ft. We provide engineered drawings (stamped where required) at no charge, which is usually all a building department needs. Your local Keen’s location can advise on your specific county.
What wind ratings are available?
Standard wind ratings range from 105 mph to 170 mph, depending on your county’s requirements. Florida coastal counties typically require 140-170 mph; inland Southeast usually requires 115-130 mph. We engineer every building to match the rating your jurisdiction requires — at no extra cost in most cases.
What’s the warranty?
Every Keen’s building includes a 20-year warranty on the steel structure. The paint finish carries a 10-year warranty against fading and chalking. Wood-frame components on storage sheds carry a 5-year warranty. Full warranty terms are provided at delivery.
Do you offer financing or rent-to-own?
Yes. We offer zero-down financing up to $100,000 through partner lenders (credit check required, approval rates above 80%), plus a rent-to-own program up to $25,000 that requires no credit check — just income verification and a small down payment.
